Booking and Payment

Svansholl Apartments requires credit card details to be provided at the time of all bookings/reservatoins. Please note that 15% deposit is requested to hold reservations/bookings for 2+ nights or longer and/or 4+ guests or more.

 We accept contactless payments through Airbnb or Booking.com In special circumstances, payments by phone or payments on site can be accepted upon arrival. Please ring the bell by the entrance wall to seek assistance. Svansholl accepts credit and debit card payments.

Cancellation Policy

Svansholl is a small destination and is therefore sensitive to cancellations. We always encourage our guests to communicate more than less and sooner than later if they need to make some changes to their travel plans and we try our best to stay flexible. Svansholl must be notified of cancellation in writing, no later than 14 days before arrival date. Cancellations made less than 14 days before arrival date will be charged 100% of the first night of their reservation. If we are not notified of a cancellation in writing, the reservation will be charged 100% of the entire stay.

Arrival / Check-In and Check-Out

Check-in is from 16:00 until 21:00 on the day of arrival. If you wish to check in after 21:00, please contact us directly. 
Check-Out is at 11:00. Svansholl is located on road 643 about 25 km north of Hólmavík. 
After entering Bjarnarfjordur, there is a small sign on the road with the name Svansholl. You drive upp the path turn left and your apartment is located in the large silver-aluminum coated house. 

The parking area is in front of the house and the entrances are on the left side of the house. There are three doors on the side of the house: far right is apartment 1, middle door is for Apartments 2 and 3 and to the far left is the family‘s home. 

There is no specific front desk at Svansholl, but access to apartment 1 is in front of the house market number 1 on the door. Apartments 2 and 3 have a shared entrance at the front of the house marked 2 and 3 by the middle door. You enter the rooms by walking up to the second floor where you find apartment 2 on the left and apartment 3 on the right. The car park is shared in front of the house. 

The wooden deck in front of the house is also shared as well as the barbeque outside. Each door has a key box to enable you to open the apartment door upon arrival and the 4 digit pin-number will be sent to you on the day of arrival.

House Rules

Non-smoking / No pets 
Svansholl Apartments is a non-smoking accommodation and pets are not allowed. 

Events are not allowed without permission and we ask guests to show general consideration to other guests and staff. 
Please take your outdoor shoes off when entering the house. 

Housekeeping 
Thorough cleaning and sanitizing protocols are used to clean the apartments, but we appreciate your assistance in keeping the area decently clean. We can also arrange for housekeeping staff to bring fresh linens, towels, or additional amenities upon request.

Breakfast, Dinner, Charging Station at Hotel Laugarholl

Private Kitchen at Svansholl
Each apartment has a private kitchenette where guests can prepare own food to their liking, although the nearest supermarket is in Holmavik Village (25 km away). 

Breakfast and Dinner at Laugarholl 
Breakfast is not available at Svansholl Apartment, but you can buy breakfast or dinner at Hotel Laugarholl (www.laugarholl.is) which is 500 meters away from Svansholl. 

Charging Station at Laugarholl 
Svansholl welcomes travelers driving around Iceland in electric vehicles. Next door to us is Hotel Laugarholl and below its swimming pool you will find a parking area with an electric vehicle charging station (two OV hubs).

Natural hot-spring and outdoor spaces

Our natural hot-spring is totally authentic and very slippery with water-algae and wet grass. 
All glass products are strictly forbidden by the hot-spring, but plastic and aluminum cans are fine so long as the trash is removed and returned back to the apartments. 
Our outdoor spaces beside Svansholl are vast, allowing guests to walk and explore nature with ample personal space.
